This knife was made in 2006. I kept it until now to test it for durability.
There has been no deterioration and no maintenance or repair has been required. It got it's first taste of Mink Oil after 18 months.
I departed from all conventional methods when I designed this pure minimalist blade.
My first objective, was to create a knife that could safely be stored within it's leather sheath.
Having to store a knife outside it's sheath because the leather can affect the blade defeats the purpose of a sheath and I don't like plastic.
I achieved this goal by form fitting thick cowhide to tightly grip the top of the handle and hold the blade suspended away from the interior.
The precise and secure fit of the sheath snaps into place with a satisfying click.
I used a very thick Damascus blade with a full width tang and for my handle design,
I formed epoxy around the haft and molded it to exactly fit the inside of my closed fist.
I then wrapped both sheath and handle with a leather that has an incredible natural pebble grain, Elephant hide.
This combination of material and shape gives a grip unlike anything you have ever held.

While designing this knife almost no consideration was given to it's appearance.
This knife was designed solely to meet my functional goals but it still turned out quite beautiful.
The knife looks like an organic slab. I believe it is unique.
The knife can be drawn quickly by gripping it with the pinky and ring finger.
The stiff wide mouth of the sheath insures an easy, smooth, safe return.

This hide was secured from a registered distributor of material legally harvested from animals that had died.
I prefer to think that it was a rogue elephant that was destroying crops and purposely trampling innocent native children.
Sales will be made only to persons 18 years of age or older.
If you should be charged by a lion, remember that it's heart is low, near the middle of it's torso.
It's not situated deeply though. Aim for the solarplexus as he wraps his claws around your body.
You may experience some head scarring from deep tooth wounds.
Remember, Elephant beats Lion
If I could only have one knife in a prison shower, this would definitely be it.
